How to Choose the Perfect Cake and Why are Personalized Cakes Expensive

Cakes are always the stars of any event. It is always included in the event’s highlights. Why? Because they can be customized and personalized to better represent the cause of the event. They’re a delight to eat and munch while talking with friends and acquaintances. Because it is an important event, it is inherent that the cake should be perfect, design, taste, and all. But how do you choose a perfect cake?

In choosing the perfect cake, this is what you should look for:

1.Flavor – Decide the flavor of your cake. There are so many to choose from. You have vanilla, butter, cheese, hazelnut, carrot, strawberry. You name it, the bakers have it.

2. Type of Cake – This means you are to choose between sponge cake, bundt cake, fondant or anything that you fancy.

3. Shape of your cake – Ask the celebrant what form of cake do they like. It should be meaningful, of course.

4. Size of your cake – Of course, you should decide how big or how tall you want your cake to be.

I heard of people complain about the cost of personalized cakes. Honestly speaking, my heart goes out to the home bakers. Let me tell you why it’s expensive.

Why is it expensive?

First, you are paying for its uniqueness. Today, we all want to have personalized things like personalized keychains, handpainted bags and personalize phone cases. Why? Because we want to be different. It is what sets us apart and in this case, the occasion itself. So why are we complaining?

Second, even if it is their passion, this is business. So they have to protect their investments as well.

Third, the cakes are not mass-produced. When you buy the ingredients by bulk, you get discounts. This is what big cakeries do which means preservatives are added to keep a longer shelf life. This is not the case with home bakers. The ingredients are bought as per order basis. Customization of cakes by these cakeries are also limited.

Fourth, the cakes you order are tried and tested recipes. Beautifully handcrafted and passionately cooked to exceed your expectations. Hours and hours of brainstorming ideas as well as personalizing it is being done. They spend hours and hours to make it perfect and this sometimes takes until the wee hours of the morning. That is not only business, but that is also passion working.

Fifth, the creative ideas and skills do not just come by. They attended expensive training, workshops as well as using costly ingredients trying again and again to perfect the taste and skill.

Sixth, you do not have to do all the mess, brainstorming and execution yourself. That is the price you pay.

Having said these, you should be able to pick the perfect cake for any occasion and cut our home baker’s some slack. If you want a personalized cake guaranteed to exceed your expectations, check out Sweet Nana’s Cupcake Shop.
