How To Make A Powerful Upwork Profile

When you decide to use the Upwork platform for finding jobs; you have to be able to create a powerful Upwork profile. Many people are trying their luck working from home. It is one of the best options to earn money in a hassle-free environment. With working online, you are your own boss. You earn dollars and can work anytime and anywhere. Furthermore, you get to be with your kids most of the time. Your working lifestyle is less costly; you do not need to commute every day. put on makeup or buy new work outfits. These are only some of the reason why people are eager to join the freelancing community.

Many have tried their luck but could not land a job after many months. Having a great profile gives you a fighting chance to make it to the initial selection process. It is important that you are able to package yourself according to your niche. Most of the time, your Upwork profile may be the reason why have not landed a job yet.

Here are some of the things you should pay attention to:

Headline – Your headline can make or break your application. This is the first thing that your client sees. Make sure your headline can tell your client what you can offer in just a few words. A good example is, “Excel Expert, Quickbooks Master” to name some. It should not keep your clients guessing.

Overview – The overview is one of the key parts of your profile. It should show why you should be hired. Your overview will also what makes you the right person for the job.

Profile Photo – Your photo should show that they can trust you. Your photo should be professional. Do not forget to smile. It can do wonders.

Experience – Since you are a newbie, you do not have past Upwork jobs to show your skills. But, do not fret, you can use the experience section of the profile to showcase your past jobs offline. Make sure it is relevant to the work you are applying for.

Portfolio – This is also important to showcase your skills. For graphic designers, these are ideal. For others, you can take a screenshot of your work relevant to your skills and put it in the portfolio.

Hourly Rate – It is important that the rate you set speaks for the skills you have. If you think you’re skills are entry-level, do not charge a high rate. Your application will be ignored. On the other hand, if you have expert skills, do not shortchange yourself. In other words, make sure your skill set and your rate matches.

Take the Upwork Tests – Upwork tests also help showcase your skills. Your client can see your results and if it is high, you are one step closer to your dream job.

When all that is done, your next step is to create a powerful, concise and convincing cover letter. Once you have landed your very first job, you need to have these mobile applications. It helps make your freelancing career a breeze.

I’ve been a work at home mom for quite some time now and actually started with Odesk which was what Upwork was previously known as. It’s a good start to working at home but I found it too restrictive for me. A great back up to have though.

Right? The thing I love most is that they were able to filter the marketplace from scammers. Security measure are put in place to protect both the clients and the freelancers.
