How to Get Approved with Google Adsense

Google Adsense is a way for publishers or website owners to earn from their websites or blogs. Thousands of advertisers would want a space on your blog. This is where your blog earns income.

However, getting Google Adsense to approve your website as a potential publisher is not easy. There are a lot of things to consider:

  1. Based on experience, Google will check on how long your blog is. On my case, it took my blog 6 months or more before I applied again because I was declined the first time.
  2. The content should be relevant. At least have more or less 15 blogs up on the site. No one would be visiting your blog if you only have a few articles on.
  3. Your blog has to have visitors. This is how advertisers gain from your site.

If you have all these, you are more or less ready to apply as a publisher in Google Adsense. Don’t forget to create an account first with Google Adsense. However, please note that Google Adsense may have other factors to look at. As soon as you get your publisher ID, you can now add the codes into your website.

For some, adding auto ads code is much simpler. Here is how you do it:

  1. Go to your Google Adsense account, click on the “Ads” tab –> Auto Ads.
  2. Click on “Set up auto ads” and copy the code provided.
  3. Go to your website’s backend and follow the ad implementation guide.
  4. Make sure to follow as instructed as skipping would result in ads not displaying.

But, if you want the ads to look neat and clean on your website, have specific areas allocated on the website for the ads. Click here to find out how.

Here is my first paycheck from Google Adsense. Now you can be sure that Google Adsense pays.

How do you get paid?

  1. Set up payments on your Google Adsense account. As for me, I opted to receive payments through Western Union.
  2. You will have to verify your address first before Google Adsense sends any payment to you. Go to payments and set up your address. Google Adsense will send a letter with a pin to your address. You will have to enter the pin correctly. It usually takes about 2-3 weeks depending on your location to receive your pin. Once received, go back to your Google Adsense account and verify with the PIN sent to you.
  3. A threshold of $100 is needed before you can request for a withdrawal. After requesting, you will then be informed when you will receive your payment through email.
  4. You can just go to the nearest Western Union branch with the transaction code and voila, you’ll have your earnings in no time.
