If you find yourself on this blog then I am 100% sure you are inclined to learn how to start blogging. Like most moms out there, time for me is fleeting. I have so many things going on juggling between freelancing and taking care of the kids that I find it hard to sit down and write. For many of you who do not know, I have always wanted to write but it didn’t really happen. I think the right moment just came.
Why should you and I blog?
- Most moms who stay at home have a computer lying around and write blogs in their free time. Why not join the bandwagon?
- With social media, we get to share our life’s journey with the rest of the world.
- We help others by sharing what works for us and what doesn’t. In short, we help disseminate information.
- We stay connected with the rest of the world despite not personally knowing each one of them.
- It acts as our escape route from the daily routines we have.
- We get to meet people who share the same interests as ours.
Starting a blog for me was challenging because I do not have the time but because of the above-mentioned reasons and because I really wanted to write, so here I am. I am hesitant to start blogging because I didn’t know then that starting a blog is easy as 1,2,3 or maybe 4. 🙂
Just stay with me and I’ll walk you through it.
Start your blogging journey HERE:
Find a Host – Because this would be an experience for you or a documentary of your journey, you have to make sure your blog is here to stay. There are a lot of hosting sites you can choose from but what you need is a host that has reliable service. In other words, 99% uptime and excellent customer service. I recommend going with Bluehost. I have mine hosted as well and I haven’t had any issues whatsoever. Additionally, it would only cost you $2.95/month. Sweet, right? Bluehost also offers a free domain and free WordPress installation. That’s not all, they offer a money back guarantee so if you feel like blogging is not for you, you can easily ask for a refund anytime. What are you waiting for? Get started now.
- Go to the Bluehost website.
- Click “Start Building“.
- Choose a plan – If you are just starting your blog, I recommend going with the basic plan. Here is a screenshot.
- Create a “domain name” or use a domain you own – Make sure your domain is something that is relative to your blog so that it can easily be remembered.
- Hold your horses, we’re close to finishing. Fill out the account information page. Here is a screenshot:
After this is done, now, you have you have a self-hosted blog. Pretty easy, right? Now let’s help you install WordPress.
How to Install WordPress?
- Wait for the Bluehost’s email containing a link to your personal Cpanel.
- Once in the Cpanel, click WordPress. Hit Start. Here is a screenshot:
- Click the Check Domain button. Leave everything as is.
- In the Advanced Options, enter your site name, admin username, password, and admin email address. Do not forget to hit “I have read and agreed to the terms and conditions of GPL v2”.
- Click Install. Easy, right?
Now, that you have a self-hosted website, it’s time to get creative. Since you are just starting, I recommend going with the free WordPress Themes. There are so many to choose from. You can also change it anytime you like so don’t get stressed if you are not liking the design of your blog. If you ever needed help with blogging, comment down below or send me a personal message. I gladly welcome that.

Nice guide! But I really can not understand one thing – why Bluehost? I have read a lot of reviews on them and I was not satisfied… Like this, for example, https://webhostinggeeks.com/providers/bluehost It says that Bluehost is not reliable at all! what do you think?
