How I Made $2000 in 2 Months Freelancing

I made $2000 in 2 months freelancing. Looking at the figures, it’s surreal. I can’t imagine earning that kind of money working at home. For some freelancers, this amount is minimal as they earn more than that but I am proud that I have achieved those figures considering that I am also a full-time mom taking care of 3 kids at home because it is a lot of work. Many stay-at-home moms would attest to that. Here is my earnings from July 1 – August 31 this year.

So how did I get those figures? The answer is HARD WORK. Just remember that If I can do it, so can you. The possibility is endless if you have made it your goal.

Here are tips to gain good clients

  1. Ensure Trust – I take care of the trust and confidence given to me by my clients. Even if you have NDA Agreement (Non-Disclosure Agreement) or not, you have to keep things confidential between you and your client. It is for me, a mutual understanding between you and your client. This is because marketing strategies, business plans, passwords and critical decision making are being shared to you. Once they feel that you are trustworthy, they will trust you to take on bigger roles and projects which mean an increase in salary and repeat business to you.
  2. Good Performance – I work for my family, therefore, I have to ensure that I will have a long-term work. This means my performance should be on par with client’s expectations and more. Giving it your 101% will make you and your boss happy.
  3. Patience – If you are not patient, freelancing is not for you. I say this because I have observed that for you to get to where you want to be, you have to be patient.
  4. Positivity – You must be enthusiastic, positive and courteous with your clients. They have to sense that you have a good personality. After all, they are entrusting you with certain parts of the business.
  5. Willingness to learn – When you decide to freelance, be ready to learn new things. You are after all working in an environment where modern technologies are developed in the shortest amount of time.
  6. Versatility – Versatility is what most clients look for in an employee. They expect you to take on different tasks. If you have proven your worth to the client, you can secure your place in the company although I admit that security of tenure in freelancing is difficult to achieve. Do not despair, I know of many freelancers who have been with their bosses for so many years.

I like what I’m doing, but it’d be so much nicer if I could work from home. I can’t risk the not steady paycheck, but I can dream. 🙂 ‘grats to you!

Congrats on this achievement! And you have the possibility to make more, it just takes consistent hard work and a little more time. I also work from home and it’s not easy in the fact that it feels like I’m working 24 hours a day as opposed to going to an office until 5 and going home and not having to think about work until the next day. But I love the flexibility and having control over my own schedule and income.
